The role of the Social Mobility Affinity Group is to create and embed a workplace where entry and progression opportunities are available to current and future colleagues, no matter their background, so they can get on in their careers. We also work with young people and adults in the communities we serve to help them reach their potential.

Focus areas

Investing at all levels

  • Investing in our colleagues at all levels and backgrounds to help them get on through training and mentoring. In doing so, we will seek to work with the wider inclusion and diversity community.

Creating opportunities

  • We build partnerships and create opportunities in our communities that allow us to find talented young people and break down the barriers that hold them back from progressing.

Engaging colleagues

  • We work with colleagues across the Group to help them develop their skills and increase their understanding of the issues some of our communities face.
