Our charity partner, The National Literacy Trust (NTL), has designed some fun and free resource packs to keep children and teenagers busy this summer.
The packs are designed to support their Words for Work Programme, which we help fund. There are three packs – one for primary school children, one for the over 13s and one for the over 16s.
PFG Social Impact Programme Manager Cathy Prior said, “The Words for Work programme gives young people the communication skills they need for the workplace and these free resources are full of activities to help children and young people improve their language, literacy, and employability skills whilst they’re at home.”
The primary school pack introduces young children to a range of jobs and explains how each role uses their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
The over 13s’ handbook is packed with employability tips and activities that will help young people improve their communication skills and get ready for employment.
The over 16s’ pack focuses on employability and communication skills in the workplace, including tips on CV writing, how to be successful in an interview, guidance on making sure your social media profile is suitable for the world of work and advice for delivering great presentations.
