This week, PFG received a B- rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). This represents an impressive step up from our previous D rating, and demonstrates the Group’s commitment to sustainability and environmental management.

For the past 20 years, this non-profit charity has been helping groups large and small to better manage their environmental impacts; from companies and investors to cities and entire geographical regions. They do this by encouraging groups to complete their industry-specific questionnaire before running the numbers through their global disclosure system. They analyse the self-reported data, award the organisation a grade based on their climate-related metrics, then make the results available to all interest parties.

This year, the CDP received carbon disclosure submissions from 13,000 organisations across the globe. Management points are awarded for actions that evidence good environmental practices and more advanced environmental stewardship earn companies more points.

Both the rating system and the industry-relevant feedback let each organisation know how it’s impacting the environment and how the environment impacts it in return. Organisations can then use this information to decide what action to take to reduce or offset any negative impact.

Muhrah Alsultan, Corporate Responsibility Manager, said:

“We’re proud to share our latest CDP rating, which is one of the highest we’ve ever received. PFG was awarded a B- for its climate efforts and to reflect the progress we’re making as we work towards meeting recommendations from the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Since many investors recognise and take companies’ CDP scores seriously, this result is great news both for PFG and our global environment.”
